1. Service Description
Papyr ("Service") is a PDF document generation API operated by Papyr ("we", "us"). The Service allows you to generate PDF documents by sending HTML content or using templates via our API.
2. Account Terms
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys.
- You must not share your API keys with unauthorized parties.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must be 18 years or older to use this Service.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Generate documents containing illegal content.
- Attempt to overwhelm or abuse the API beyond your plan limits.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Resell the Service without written permission.
- Generate documents that infringe on intellectual property rights.
4. Payment Terms
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.
- All fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
- We may change pricing with 30 days notice to your registered email.
- If payment fails, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan after a 7-day grace period.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard.
5. API Usage & Rate Limits
- Each plan includes a monthly document generation limit.
- Exceeding your limit will result in API requests being rejected until the next billing cycle.
- We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that abuse rate limits.
6. Data & Privacy
- HTML content sent to the API is processed in memory and not stored after PDF generation.
- We do not retain generated PDF documents.
- Account data (email, usage metrics) is stored as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from service interruptions, data loss, or errors in generated documents.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Papyr shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your API keys are immediately revoked.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
